Well mostly all Daytona Beach.
Florida came on strong with free Florida Orange Juice at the I-95 Welcome Center / Rest Area. It tasted very good after we just finished our Peach Cider from Georgia. (Georgia is famous for its peaches…) We obtained lots of valuable information from the Welcome Center, the southern States really have their game together. With Tourism such an important part of their economy, they treat tourists well.

We stopped at a few random beaches along the way. We tried to drive along the coast, versus the Interstate, but Florida is very long and we needed to make up some time, so we hit the Interstate down to Daytona Beach. We wanted to find a good seafood market, so we searched what was popular- Kyle’s Seafood in St. Augustine, FL was rated very well on review sites. So after a quick stop we left with some fresh scallops, oysters and fresh made in store Lobster Bisque. We proceeded down to Daytona and hit the Beach. In Daytona Beach, you can drive on most of the beaches, and park and spend the day. So we headed onto the beach, heated up our Lobster bisque and relaxed on the beach. I may have broken the no alcohol rule, but when you see the photos, you will understand a beer complements it very nicely.
Time to go, that water is getting close
As the tide was coming in, and our escape path off the beach was slowly being engulfed in Water, we headed for higher ground. Down to the Boardwalk in Daytona Beach. This area is very touristy with junky gift shops, amusement rides, theme restaurants, but it also has a nice Pier. We walked out onto the Pier and watched the locals reel in their catch. People were catching lots of exotic looking fish. We then noticed one man was re baiting his hook with his catch. ( a small colorful fish) I mentioned to Aya, what would be big enough to eat that whole fish. Well of course, a Shark. And sure enough, a Shark was clearly visible swimming around under the Pier. After about 10 minutes the Shark finally took the bait, and we saw it jump / spin out of the water 2 times, before the fishing line snapped. I missed the photo, but you can see his upper fin in one of them.
