We are back in Canada!

We have more viewers of this Blog in Japan vs. Canada, so we are going to also post in the Japanese language. Some posts may be bilingual, some just in English and perhaps some just in Japanese, so brush up on your Japanese now.

Aya made it home safely from Tokyo a week after Tyler. First thing on the agenda(after sleeping off the Jet Lag!) was servicing our house. Due to the approx. 50,000kms already on our trailer- it was time to repack the bearings. We also had the entire trailer re sealed to ensure no water makes its way onto the bed.

Logistically it made sense to catch a ride out to the trailer repair facility behind a Dodge 3500, Cummins Turbo Diesel. After ensuring the truck was powerful enough to tow the unit, we set off.

Yes its overkill, but we had to warm the truck up for what it is about to tow.

This is not our unit, but exactly the same.

We spotted this at an R.V Dealer, we have seen others online, but this is the first in the flesh, other than our own. Currently, we think there are 6 in British Columbia.

Rain usually accompanies any camping plans in British Columbia. Our first expedition with the new R.V was no exception. We slept in our small trailer, but enjoyed the luxury of a sofa, fireplace, and indoor kitchen and bathroom in the other unit during the day.

but…….

When the rain and fog clears, this is why British Columbia is still the nicest place in the world to call home:

To make this picture even more Canadian, it was taken from the parking lot of Tim Hortons.

Being home for such a short period of time (4 weeks) does not leave much time to cram in everything we have to do. We have to be self sufficient on the road, in another country. So we have spent lots of time doing the following: servicing car (including a recall), servicing the trailer, banking, filing Income taxes, visiting family and friends, renewing insurance, a trip to the Driver’s Licence office, and on and on and on.

After all of this “work” (and eating at home) it was time to re visit a favorite restaurant. We wanted to compare (again) Japanese Sushi vs. Canadian Sushi. Well sadly we were very disappointed.

You know you have been away for too long when one of your favorite restaurants burns to the ground and you find out standing in the parking lot with an empty stomach!

After the initial shock wore off, we visited a trusted backup in our old neighbourhood.

This was marginal- at best. Sushi Mori was much better.

No comparison.

Sushi makes you very thirsty…  Off for some B.C. Craft Beer.

To be continued………..
