After being on the road for three months, living in a tiny space, and travelling at a brisk pace- it was time to kick back and relax. Maine advertises itself as “Vacationland”, its emblazoned right on their licence plates. Before we could relax, we had a National Park to visit.

On our way to Acadia National Park, we found this guy racing across the road.

Next up, was a stop called Thunder Hole. If the tide and waves are just right, the water slam’s into a hole in the rocky shoreline and sounds similar to thunder. When we visited it was low tide and no thunder.

Acadia National Park is apparently the second most visited National Park in the United States. We were not that impressed, it was much too commercialized and busy for our liking, but the views were unique at least.

Now that the park is done, it was time to move on to the Relaxation part. We started this off with a Maine Lobster feast.

For the next few days, we put the camera away and relaxed, enjoying a break from driving and the pool at the KOA campground in Naples, Maine.

We did venture out for new tires on the trailer.

Naples Maine is in the heart of Lake Country, Maine. Many lakes are connected by canals and locks. We were told the locks in Sebago Lake State Park are interesting to see, we set off to investigate.

We will probably never be back to Maine, but it was a great week. Boston is up next.
