This post covers a few afternoon excursions to a trusted Bakery and a new to us Brewery. First the Baking, because if we started with the beer, we may have never made it to the Bakery.
Purebread Bakery, Whistler, B.C
If you run into someone who claims to be from Whistler, B.C and they are unaware of Purebread, they are an Imposter! Purebread is royalty in Whistler, a celebrity of sorts. The delicious breads and treats that they make daily are Amazing. The photos speak for themselves, but if you are in Whistler, you must stop. (They have a Vancouver location as well)
Across the street from Purebread is the Whistler Brewing Company. The beauty in this neighbourly arrangement is something called Dysfunctional Ale Bread. Whistler Brewing makes the beer and gives the spend grains to Purebread, who then make bread with it. The end result is delicious bread with a kick of beer!
We could have just walked across the street for beer, but wanted to experience somewhere new! So the next stop for beer is:
Central City Brewing, Surrey, B.C:
After a few tastes, we headed off into the land of Stainless Steel for a tour of the Brewery. Central City likes to call itself a small craft brewery, but it looks very automated and big to us.
All in, it was a good tour, and the best part of course, was the beer. Keep your eyes open for a Pink Peppercorn Saison Beer that will hit the shelves soon- very interesting flavour.
We wrapped all of that up with a trip to Aya’s Kitchen.
Aya is an amazing Chef, and I am always available to eat it!
Until next time…..
